About this speaker
For three decades, Dawn has helped churches reach more people, more effectively with communication strategies for ministry. As a champion and pioneer for leveraging marketplace best practices for ministry purposes, she's taught these principles at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, as well as dozens of church conferences and hundreds of private events across the country.
In 1995 she founded AspireOne, a strategy and communications firm which recently rebranded as Mavericks, continuing the mission of helping pastors find new ways to get their stories heard so more will hear about Jesus. She frequently contributes to leading edge thinking of integrating Christianity and culture, Including books such as, Unique: Telling Your Story in the Age of Brands and Social Media, and Starting from Scratch, both by Phil Cooke, as well as Just Lead by Sherry Surratt and Jenni Catron, Church Communication Heroes Volume One, edited by Kevin D. Hendricks, and Outspoken: Conversations on Church Communications by Tim Schraeder. She also led communications for a church with 18,000 in weekend attendance that supported over 100 ministries and helped build the brand of VeggieTales as part of the advertising team of Big Idea Productions.
Currently she consults on communication and growth strategies for churches and ministries across the country of all shapes and sizes. But despite dedicating her career to helping others reach people, there are areas she’s still working on since her husband sometimes claims he has “No idea what she’s talking about,” or “Doesn’t understand a word she says."
